Midgetown

by *CouncilofGandalf

Midgetown

In the northern realms beyond The Final Great Divide,
Leagues inside the massive forest encircled thick with trees,
Is a town like no other, a place where midgets hide,
And conduct their ancient secret ways exactly as they please.

They made their way, long ago, to that secluded site,
A thousand years prior when black war smoke filled the night,
Their exodus was elemental, their kind being so destroyed,
The fires ceased and all assumed the little ones had met the void.

In fact their plight was terribly dire but not as bad as thought,
By the lanky, disenchanted forlorn humans of that land,
The tall ones laughed and sang of all the battles they had fought,
And knew not the least of the impending reprimand.

You see, the midgets never forget any woes that do befall them,
They only plan and scheme all day on how that they should maul them,
Once the bait is set and all the gangly wretched ones are lured,
They’ll have a feast in Midgetown when the land’s of them been cured.

All the midget scholars gathered in the mighty Hall of Oak,
And there they stayed until they died and their progeny took their place,
So it went for a thousand years ‘til at last the council spoke,
They finally having decided how to kill the human race.

The plan was simple, true, yet ingeniously devised,
It depended on the tall ones’ legendary evil pride,
The midgets had an offer no manifesting scum could refuse,
A taunt a thousand years and going, “You ugly ones will lose!”

That was the quote the human leader had received,
Written on a tiny scrap of paper, midget scrawl,
“They exist still!”  The tall ones cried, much bereaved,
Of their historic genocide of the people, short and small.

So with pomp and flair the humans set out to burn down Midgetown,
But knowing not its true location they followed the small map around,
The map had been included with the humiliating letter sent,
By the clever midgets dwelling in their secret cabbage tents.

The trail led for miles more and many humans died,
Before they even reached the trap the skillful ones had lain.
The humans never knew til the moment they arrived,
And fell screaming down a pit to land in total pain.

The humans didn’t see the leaves which covered up the hole,
They passed right through the fibrous net and all were swallowed whole.
They tried in vain, desperately, to clamber up the side,
But life beyond that earthen grave for them had been denied.

Seconds after their trap had sprung,
From vines and pulleys the midgets swung,
They landed near the abyss’s edge,
And formed a complete anal wedge.

Midgets young and midgets old had all gathered round,
Listening to the humans make their evil grunting sound.
“Our destiny!!” they cried with glee and the final thing the humans could see
was the hot torrent of midget dung, coming, coming down...

Midgets are distinct from hobbits. Much more disgusting, they are.
